This one has taken longer than normal to post, because of the trip to France. So thanks guys for being patient with me. Jonathan and Johanna had a beautiful wedding. Everything happened out of the usual order, so the slideshow reflects that. But it was a perfect two days! You could tell that the were SOOOO happy together. These two have so many people who love them, I've never had a group temple photo with sooo many people. You can tell that Jonathan and Johanna have big hearts that people love to be around! I am headed off to Paris today! I'm not taking my phone or computer so I will be answering all e-mails and messages when I get home after June 2nd.

These are a long time coming. When I went to Utah, I took pictures for my little sister who is graduating high school this year. Even though I was in the midst of morning sickness, she still really looks good. You can see the slideshow here.

I've been really bad about blogging lately....more than usual:) anyways I have a good reason, and I will be back to usual blogging soon.

This is our "bun in the oven." We just went to the doctor and got a new sonogram, and this one doesn't looks so much like a blob. Anyways, I've been slow at everything lately, and really sick....and brainless:) There really has been nothing to blog about recently. I wake up, go to work, and go home and go to bed (not very blog worthy:) Anyways, I do have one more shoot of my little sisters senior pics to post until the new wedding season starts. For those who are waiting on negatives, I am down to the last two weddings, and will be done saturday. Anyways, thought I'd explain, and show off the new picture...as I said I'm brainless, and don't have too much to say. But I look forward to getting back into things now that the first trimester is ending:)

While getting Casey & Ashley's negatives together I realized that I had never posted these pictures of Ashley's bridals. The day before her wedding we did a mini bridal session in LaCanada. This was my first bridal session. Most Cali girls opt not to have bridals done. Bridals are very traditional in some other states. Anyways I think she looks awesome, and I loved her dress...it's very art deco. Sorry for the delay, I should have posted these before. I have another shoot coming soon, and maybe I will post next week what I've been up to on this blogging hiatus.

Casey & Ashley

I really do love to hate good looking people, they make picking out a handful of photos for my blog really hard:) Luckily I get to post slideshows, so I don't feel so much pressure. Casey and ashley have a big warm family and it was really fun to shoot this wedding. We had the perfect day in Santa Monica, even the clouds were perfect... It's really rare to get pretty clouds in L.A. All in all it was the perfect day! Also for any friends who read this, I'm looking for the groomsman who sang at the wedding, I loved the song and would love to replace the one I have as a placeholder. I forgot his name....anyone know? He was amazing and should be famous some day. As I said everything was perfect at this wedding! Click here for the slideshow!

Mormonism Explained

I saw this video and I was amazed at how well this 20 year old explained our religion. I get questions all the time about the issues she talks about. I wish I could explain these things better, and I'm jealous of her ability to clearly communicate. She explains the truth of the religion, without being disrespectful of other people, which should be the goal of a Christ centered religion You can also tell that she speaks from her heart in a genuine sense. I also liked how she talks about growing up in a predominantly Mormon community and how now that she is outside of that world, that she sees her religion more as her identity, something that does differ her from others she meets. I also agree with her about the "Utah" factor. Utah LDS people tend to follow some Dogma, or "traditions" that add things that aren't true to the religion. Some are good traditions some are bad, but I don't believe that anyone really means bad by them, but they have crept into everyday life there just because everyone is of the same belief. I think thats why I enjoyed leaving Utah, and all the experiences I've had outside my home, and the people I have met. On that note, I still love Utah and I will always call it home. I just consider myself on an adventure right now. Anyways, maybe some people wonder why a lot of the weddings I post here are not the traditional down the aisle weddings. Thats because many are LDS weddings. I have nothing against traditional weddings, and love to shoot them. Anyways, I thought it was a good video, long but good. I thought this was a cute old ad and I thought it would be even cuter if it were Chad and I. Otherwise, I have a few shoots that are edited and blog ready they should be posted soon. I will be in Utah next week and will be shooting more and have more to blog then as well!

Things Are Amazing, But Nobody is Happy.....

It's funny how when I take a blogging hiatus that I get unseen amounts of traffic to my blog. I usually get 1200 unique hits a day, this past week I'm at 2,500 unique hits. Pretty amazing that that many people care about what I have to say. Or I guess they prefer that I don't talk because that is when more people look:)

Anyways I thought I'd give an update: I have been very busy getting photo shoots edited and blog ready. I have been busy at work. I got to handmake a book that was a gift to Obama and it will be presented to him tomorrow. Pretty cool. In fact when someone saw me on my office floor sewing, they said I need to take my crafts home. I said I was asked to make it for Obama, and he said "well I'm having lunch with Jesus" (for my Utah peeps Obama is second only to Jesus right now in Cali...a close second) See mom all that money you paid for me to take bookbinding really paid off:) Sorry I can't show it, work policy. I also have some big news! We got a good tax return and I finally get to be an artist that has been to Europe! YAY! We are spending 10 days in france in May:)

Otherwise I'm busy plugging away at work. As a side note, yesterday I bought a fish table...we have needed one for years. You may ask what a fish table is. Well it is a table to put the fish on. They have been taking up a home on my aerobic step...and I have the rear end to prove it. Nothing says don't excersise like a fish tank on your aerobic step. I've been against buying furniture for our apartment. I want a house first, then we can stop living out of big Ikea storage containers. Anyways I got a really good deal at pier one, and as a bonus it barely fit into my car.

I will be in Utah on the 19th, and I will be soon e-mailing people on my waiting list for photos. If my sister wants senior pics it means I only have one spot open for this trip.

Lastly I've been thinking a lot lately about things going on in the world, and when a friend sent me this on Facebook I thought it was blog worthy

Seriously, I love these guys. Jonathan & Johanna are getting married in may. I can't wait to shoot their wedding! I spent almost a day driving around with these guys, and had a great time. They are such a fun easy going couple. They both said they weren't comfortable in front of a camera....but as you can see they were natural models. There slideshow makes me smile, click here to see it.
