I have been trying to take pictures of Elle every day. I thought it would be fun to make a book of her first year. I've found if I leave the camera in an easy to reach place I remember to take pictures. Also I always stuff the small point and shoot camera in the diaper bag. Hopefully I will keep this up as I go back to work next week.

Bows

When my mom had my little sister she stuck her in foofy dresses and stuck gigantic bows on her head. I even had to wear a matching bow once (shown below). We all thought my mom was crazy to put bows the size of Whitney's head on her. Well maybe it's in the genes? I can't resist!

Sometimes a Little Rain Must Fall

We went to the pool today. We have been trying to get Elle used to going with Chad to work for a couple hours during the day. I go back to work soon, and Chad will have her while I'm gone. I love my job, but I am sad about leaving Elle. I love to be home with her. I thought I never would, enjoy being just a mom. I have a new respect for SAHM (stay at home moms). I think I will soon have a new respect for working moms too. I never knew how much work a baby was, I can't imagine having two! Even with all the work, I love to be home. I love to make her giggle, and listen to her conversations. I love it when she wakes up from her naps and is so happy to see me coming in to get her. I will truly miss cuddling with her all day. I think SAHM are very lucky and I am very jealous of them. At least I am going back to a job that I love. I feel bad for moms who have to go back to a job they don't enjoy just to pay the bills. It has been raining here in S. Cali all week. It kinda makes me sad and reminds me my time home is almost up.

I like to take pictures on Elle with Chad. Chad has been really cute with her. When we were in the hospital he would go home to get some sleep at night, I thought he would sleep in, but he would show up at 6 a.m. asking where his baby was. She was usually at her morning checkup in the nursery at that time. They have a lot of fun together, Chad can't wait for her to be old enough to swim in the pool. The first few pictures are up because chad loved the first picture of her and asked that I put it on the blog. I like the one of her bum with ruffles. I like to call her Elle Rufflebottom.

Christmas 2009

I don't believe in spending Christmas in a warm climate. We either go to Utah or up to Canada for Christmas. This year we went to Utah. Since I was still on maternity leave I took Elle a week early. I don't recommend flying with a baby by yourself if you can help it...and if you do it is totally worth it to buy a seat for them. It saved us from sitting next to someone with a disease. People were really nice and helped us on and off the plane with all the baby gear. So thanks to the nice Utahns who helped us.

I took pictures of Elle's first Gap outfit. I thought the hat was really cute, but it was almost too warm because she was falling asleep in it. I really love the chubby cheek picture where she looks like Jabba the Hutt. Anyways I thought I'd just post a few pictures from our trip. We really didn't go anywhere with her or do much more than hanging out at home.

My Baby (Part 2)

I heart our new little family. It has been fun to be on maternity leave and learn to be a mom. At the first of the year I was feeling like I wanted to learn something new....guess I have now. The first two weeks I was a little scared to take pictures of little Elle...she was still new and fragile. With lots of practice I have learned how to get a baby to sleep during a shoot, I can't wait to shoot another newborn's pictures!

My Baby (Part 1)

Sorry I've been away from the blog lately. I have been busy enjoying my new little bundle! I decided to take a break from all work including shooting weddings and blogging. It's good that I did because I never knew how much work a newborn was. So I am updating the blog so that when I go back to work I don't just quit blogging due to the mountain of blogging waiting for me.

Our Elle (pronounced "L" ) was born October 30th 2009. She was almost a Halloween baby! She was 7 lbs. 8oz. She was born with red hair. We need more Gingers in the world. Yesterday someone told us that only 2% of the world are redheads. We are like an endangered species! So we are glad to repopulate. I had to have a C-section so we spent a few more days in the hospital which my Dr. calls hotel Verdugo. I had enough of "hotel Verdugo" and I was just happy to go home, sleep in my own bed, and be with my new little family

Back in October I had Chad take pictures of my "fluffy" pregnant belly. I never wanted maternity pics because being pregnant was miserable. But I decided that I may regret not taking photos once it was over. Here are the photos from my maternity shoot, and the hospital. The hospitals ones were taken with my small point and shoot camera, I wasn't feeling well enough to pull the big gun out.

James & Megan

This is my first post in so long! I have been out on maternity leave and have been busy feeding changing & loving a new baby. I will post more on her soon. I also have a new blog that I have made that I will be posting on as well!

On New Years Eve I got to go to Santa Monica and hang out with James and Megan. We had a lot of fun, Santa Monica is a fun location for engagement pics. These two look great in pictures...I think Megan almost looks like Anne Hathaway. Anyways, during Christmas vacation these two got engaged at Disneyland...how fun! So we did some engagements while they were in town. They wanted some california shots.....and what says Cali better than the beach. I'm looking forward to their wedding in May!
